Guldager A/S has entered into a strategic partnership with the North Jutland-based company Hydro-X, which has supplied chemical water treatment products to the industrial and combined heat and power sectors for many years. The purpose of the partnership is to leverage the shared synergies between the two companies, with a focus on mutual business opportunities at the European level through the utilization of know-how, products, and services.
Hydro-X features an extensive partner network with broad experience in water and cooling treatment, holding multiple ISO certifications that ensure uniform products and high-quality service. Guldager boasts a long history in water treatment and a broadly founded service business. Committed to sustainable water treatment, Guldager is a signatory to the UN Global Compact and supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The strategic partnership with Hydro-X marks yet another milestone in Guldager's history. This year, the company celebrates its 75th anniversary, having been founded in 1946 by the Guldager brothers, Harald and Poul Guldager. Until 2016, the company remained family-owned, after which a generational transition took place as the Danish private equity fund Capidea acquired a majority stake in Guldager. Capidea invests in competitive small and medium-sized Danish enterprises with growth potential. Alongside the majority shareholder Capidea, Guldager is currently owned by Hydro-X International and the company's management.
Claus Torbøl, CEO of Guldager, is enthusiastic about the partnership and looks forward to enhanced service capabilities: "We are very pleased with the partnership with Hydro-X, which will strengthen our AdditiveCare business while also establishing a unique position as a Full-Service Provider. In practice, this means our customers only need a single supplier for water treatment. We are a leading Danish water treatment enterprise that has built a European organization over 75 years, driven by skilled and motivated employees. The water treatment sector is experiencing rapid growth, and Guldager possesses strong competencies and a solid market position in Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, and Belgium. Our objective for the coming years is to draw upon the extensive experience of employees at both Guldager and Hydro-X to expand our water treatment operations through continued development, acquisitions of companies, and advanced technologies."
Ernst Kristensen, Group Executive at Hydro-X, sees numerous opportunities in this partnership: "This collaboration will reinforce both Hydro-X and Guldager's market position within water treatment, specifically through the Full-Service Provider concept, ensuring our clients require only one supplier for all water treatment needs. Simultaneously, we will provide our partners worldwide with access to Guldager's know-how, product portfolio, and services to enhance their competitive edge in local markets."
