Guldager has acquired the 100 percent Danish-owned company POCOS as of August 1, 2020.
Polar Corrosion Services ApS (POCOS) was founded in 2011 by engineer Jan Almqvist. The company is based on core values and technical expertise built through 18 years of work with corrosion protection of Danish ports and subterranean steel structures.
Today, POCOS is a leading specialized engineering firm performing technical calculations for cathodic protection and offering product supplies for corrosion protection installations using galvanic anodes (GACP) or impressed current (ICCP). POCOS also performs control measurements of existing cathodic protection systems and assists with quality control of anode deliveries from clients' external suppliers.
"We are pleased to now become part of Guldager, where together we can develop strong new service concepts for the industry," says Director Jan Almqvist.
"We are very proud that POCOS is becoming part of Guldager and strengthening the company's corrosion business. We are a leading Danish water treatment company that has built a European organization of skilled and motivated employees over nearly 80 years. The water treatment sector is experiencing rapid growth, and Guldager possesses strong competencies and a solid market position in Denmark, Switzerland, and Belgium. Our objective for the coming years is to leverage the extensive experience of Guldager's employees to expand the water treatment business through continued development, as well as the acquisition of companies and technologies," says Claus Torbøl, CEO of Guldager.
