Mixed Bed filter

A mixed-bed filter is used to fine-polish demineralized water.

A mixed-bed filter fine-polishes demineralized water from sources such as an EDI system. This ensures that the final remaining minerals and salts are effectively removed from the water.

The filter contains a blend of two resins that act as cation and anion exchangers (attracting positive and negative ions, respectively). As a rule, a mixed-bed filter is non-regenerable, so resin renewal is performed either by replacing the resin alone or by swapping out the complete filter (typically during a scheduled service inspection).
