Lagotec Biofilm Sensors

Water Treatment / Monitoring / Lagotec Biofilm Sensors

Guldager distributes sensors for Lagotec in Scandinavia. Over the past few decades, Lagotec has developed innovative sensor solutions for online measurement of biofilms and deposits in water-based systems.

Monitor biofilm growth in your water system

Biofilm on the system’s surfaces can impair heat transfer and cause a number of operational problems for the system operator, including fouling, biologically induced corrosion, and hygiene issues such as Legionella.

With Lagotec's DEPOSENS® biofilm sensors, you can continuously monitor the presence and thickness of biofilm and gain a better basis for optimizing your water treatment.

How the Sensor Works

DEPOSENS® detects small changes in heat transfer when bacteria in the system deposit biological material on the sensing surface.

The measurement shows the trend when the sensor is built into the system and supplements water analyses and microbiological tests with direct information about the extent of the biofilm in the system.

Benefits for Your Operations

1

Early detectionof incipient biological growth

2

Targeted control of bacterial growth, using measurement data to support the selection and optimization of the optimal treatment solution

3

Monitoring cleaning effectivenessby tracking changes in biofilm levels

4

Better operational insightthrough continuous monitoring rather than one-time measurements.

Guldager helps with the overall solution

We can help you select and install the sensor in your system, as well as the controller for data collection.

The measurement results are evaluated in conjunction with water analyses and operational data so that the monitoring can be translated into specific treatment recommendations and microbiological control measures.
