Electrodeionization is used for post-treatment of the permeate from the RO installation
Electrodeionation finishes the permeate (water from a reverse osmosis installation) so that the content of salts and minerals comes down to a very low level. The conductivity of the water from a RO installation is typically 10-30 μS / cm; After running through an EDI installation, the conductivity is less than 0.1 μS / cm.
Unlike other ionization processes, the process in EDI is chemical-free as the continuous regeneration of the resin takes place by means of an applied current. In this way, the installation always supplies demineralized water.
